Yoruba actor Saheed Balogun narrowly escaped a robbery attack on Monday along FUTA-Igbara Oke Road, Akure, Ondo state.
A CelebGist source, who was in a commercial bus
moving side by side with Balogun’s white Hyundai Jeep, said that
gunshots were suddenly fired by some armed men at the spot before every
driver, including the Yourba actor, started derailing off the road for
safety.
Some vehicles were reportedly robbed at the scene,
but it could have been unfortunate if the robbers noticed Saheed
Balogun, who may not be with many valuables to part with.
CelebGist put a call through to Saheed Balogun later
and he confirmed that he was at the scene of the robbery, saying it took
the intervention of some military men who surfaced from nowhere to
douse the robbery.
“Robbery is too rampant at that scene. It’s like about six times I
have encountered robbery there. I’m beginning to suspect the dwellers in
that area. Government must look into it,” he said.
