HOW TO SELL WHAT YOU DON’T HAVE (products) PART 1

HOW TO SELL WHAT YOU DON’T HAVE (products) PART 1
Friends, we are at it again. The only thing that has been discovered impossible is impossibility itself. This is our world, we are what we decide we want to be irrespective of what we don’t have, what we don’t know and possibly; who we think we are not. I love this concept dearly because it is simple, real and awesomely rewarding.

How many times have you had to ignore business information simply because you think it’s not your area of knowledge? You may have to remain where you are for a long time until you start to do what you don’t know how to do. Successful people in the world don’t do only the things they know how to do, in fact, your greatest break will surface when you conquer the unknown.

One of the most fun-fill careers in life is marketing. Honestly, anything is possible there. Products are made to be sold. Who made the sale is not as important as the sales itself. All that is needed is to make the sales happen. I don’t need to work for Cadbury to sell or distribute Bonvita. I don’t even need a link with their company. Imagine hearing someone saying he needs blocks to start a building project and you close your ear simply because you work in a bank or you have never done anything close to such. A computer Engineer thinks he cannot sell furniture and an Insurance broker believes he can’t sell clothing.

Income in terms on cash is not a relative matter. We all need it. The use of it is what can be said to be relative. Selling what you don’t have requires no formal skill. All you need is to be smart and be able to coordinate people. You can place order for anything from the comfort of your home, office or even while on a trip and have it delivered to anywhere you want. While working at a site one day, an elderly woman called me to ask if I know anyone dealing majorly on Tissue paper. Instantly I recognized it to be business in a box. I needed to open this box. I called few people and had all the needed info to handle the situation. Meanwhile, whatever happens, I will not be able to leave my duty post. I called the woman back and told her that I will deliver the tissue papers in two hours. She smiled but I was firm. Control is vital here. Working where you are not as if you are there. The goods were delivered to time and my account credited. I paid the supplier and retained my profit.

Since then, the woman in question has trusted my ability and competence. I made new friends as the supplier and his team remained grateful to me for such a huge supply. I did not leave my duty post, I have never done such business before, but I did it and it was rewarding. I got new experience and my confidence got stronger.
Friends, no one is going to willingly help you to succeed. You have to seize chances to create impressions that will sell you to the world.
I don’t know if you belief me. But I want help you to understand this better with the following principles:

Things you must know.
1.       The ultimate aim of all manufacturers is to make sales.
2.       Who the seller is, is not important. What is important is the sale itself.
3.       You don’t need to know everything about the product before you can sell it. What you need is someone who knows all you need to know about the product and can deliver it perfectly on your behalf.
4.       You don’t have to be there to make the sales. You simply need to work on your control power, so that you have the sales excellently carried out by your voice prompt.
5.       You have price fixing power through the law of business negotiation. Money is not your enemy. You become enemies when feel too big.
This is it. Am supplying building blocks at the moment, but I do not produce blocks at the moment and I do not know the site nor do I know who am selling to. I had two people talking about a building project that was suffering from poor quality block supply. They needed quality blocks and I was not going to let that pass me. I interrupted their talk and won their trust. Their friend owns the project. I used the rest of that to locate a good block and made a deal with the owner. I have supplied more than 10,000 blocks at N10 commission on each since then.

Stop pretending to be fine when you can be better. To be ignorantly comfortable is living in deceitful world. Every position you hold is an opportunity to better manager of time and opportunities. You don’t need anybody’s permission to live a good life. If you will stop thinking “you are fine” or “ok”, things will change.
My cousin brother sent some cartons of beverages to his friend who happens to live close to my area. The consignment did a stop-over at my place. I made enquiries about it and I was made to know that those things need buyers. I asked for help and was able to dispose off of 80 cartons at a friendly commission. Don’t ignore any information, don’t think you are bigger than any opportunity, don’t pre-conclude you cannot do something and don’t ever think you are just ok the way you are.

I sold suits on my facebook wall. I use my twitter handle to make sales. People need your help and there is no amount of money you can have that will be enough to attend to your needs and the needs of those who need your help. Come out of your comfort zone and be more effective. Remember, you can sell what you don’t have.
